About Merced

Merced Stratton is a music teacher, singer, and researcher living in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her partner and poodle.  She is the founder and owner of Stratton Music Studio, where she teaches singing, guitar, piano, and songwriting to students at all ages and levels.  She holds an MM in Voice Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and serves as a Post-Master’s Fellow at Berklee College of Music, where she is curating a genre-defying performance series of art song, cabaret, and original singer-songwriter music.  She also serves as President of the NATS Boston Chapter, centering professional development for members and driving innovation in the field of voice teaching.  When she is not doing music, Merced enjoys crocheting, California wines, and listening to podcasts.

Music Lessons to Find Your Artistic Voice

With a unique blend of evidence-based voice pedagogy and a background in songwriting, Merced helps people of all musical backgrounds develop reliable, flexible vocal technique to support them in all their creative pursuits, from rock shows to choral concerts to opera stages.

Your lesson can include:

  • Voice technique and performance (classical, musical theater, pop/rock, folk, jazz)

  • Piano and/or guitar instruction

  • Ear training and sight-singing

  • Music theory and analysis

  • Songwriting
